Assessment Conditions

This assignment must be completed under ECA Maritime College assessment conditions.

You must not:

  • Falsify workplace records, calculations, evidence or supporting documentation.
  • Share assessment questions, answers or marking guides with other students.
  • Use Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, including ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Copilot or similar systems, unless specifically authorised within the assessment instructions or by your assessor.

Failure to comply with these assessment conditions may result in your assessment being reviewed, returned for resubmission or deemed invalid.

During the Assignment

  • Complete all assessment tasks using your own knowledge, skills and experience.
  • Read each question carefully before responding.
  • Answer every question to the best of your ability.
  • Provide sufficient detail to demonstrate your understanding of the topic.
  • Use clear and professional language throughout your responses.
  • Contact your assessor if you require clarification regarding any assessment task.

Use of Reference Material

Research and reference material may be used where appropriate to support your responses.

Any information, data, images, diagrams, calculations, workplace documents, publications, websites, legislation, standards, codes of practice, manuals or other reference material used to complete this assignment must be acknowledged.

Sources requiring acknowledgement include, but are not limited to:

  • Textbooks and training resources.
  • Industry publications and technical manuals.
  • Workplace procedures and documents.
  • Australian legislation, regulations, Marine Orders and standards.
  • Government publications and guidance material.

Where information has been obtained from another source, students must clearly identify the source within their response or provide a reference list at the end of the assignment.

Failure to acknowledge the use of reference material may be considered plagiarism and may result in the assessment being returned for resubmission or deemed Not Yet Satisfactory.

Students remain responsible for the accuracy, validity and suitability of all submitted work regardless of any external assistance used.

Supporting Evidence

You may be required to upload supporting documents, calculations, workplace records, photographs, reports or other evidence.

Where supporting evidence is required:

  • Ensure documents are complete and legible.
  • Ensure evidence clearly demonstrates your involvement in the activity being assessed.
  • Remove any confidential information that is not relevant to the assessment.
  • Upload all required evidence before submitting your assignment.

Results and Resubmissions

After submitting your assignment, you can review your results through the ECA Dashboard.

To view your assessment progress:

  1. Open the ECA Dashboard.
  2. Select Assignment Results.
  3. Review any assessor comments.
  4. Complete any resubmission requirements if requested.

Important: If additional work is required, your assessor’s comments and resubmission instructions will appear in your Comments section within the ECA Dashboard. It is your responsibility to regularly check this area and action any outstanding comments.

Attempts

You have a maximum of two attempts to correct any non-satisfactory responses within this assignment unless otherwise advised by your assessor.
