Assessment Instructions

Please read the following information before commencing this assessment.

Assessment Conditions

This is a closed-book assessment conducted under ECA Maritime College assessment conditions.

You must not:

  • Use Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, including ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Copilot or similar systems.
  • Take screenshots or photographs of assessment questions.
  • Copy, record or distribute assessment content.
  • Use your web browser’s Back button during the assessment.
  • Open other websites, applications or documents unless specifically instructed by your assessor.
  • Leave the Zoom session or disable your camera or microphone without assessor approval.

Failure to comply with these assessment conditions may result in your assessment being reviewed or deemed invalid.

During the Assessment

  • Your assessment is monitored via Zoom by your assessor or ECA Maritime College administration.
  • Your camera and microphone must remain on throughout the assessment unless otherwise instructed.
  • Please ensure you are in a quiet location where you will not be interrupted.
  • If additional resources are required, a Materials tab will be available within the assessment. Download any required documents before commencing.

Answering Questions

  • Answer every question to the best of your ability.
  • If you are unsure of an answer, enter your best response or indicate that you do not know. This helps your assessor identify areas requiring further training or support.
  • Do not leave questions blank unless instructed otherwise.

Assessment Results and Resubmissions

To view your assessment progress:

  1. Open the ECA Dashboard.
  2. Select Quiz Attempts.
  3. Review any assessor comments.
  4. Complete any resubmission requirements if requested.

Important: If additional work is required, your assessor’s comments and resubmission instructions will appear in your Comments (1) section within the ECA Dashboard. It is your responsibility to regularly check this area and action any outstanding comments.

As a quick guide, when the number of comments and points are equal (for example 2 comments and 2 points, or 4 comments and 4 points), all comments have been addressed and no further action is required.

Attempts

You have a maximum of two attempts to correct any incorrect answers within this assessment.

Ready to Begin?

When you are ready, click Start Quiz.

Once you have completed the assessment, click Submit Quiz and wait for the on-screen confirmation message. You should also receive an email confirming that your submission has been received.
